Experience
2005 - 2006 Java Programmer, BSkyB
Developing Java web applications on an IBM Websphere Application Server platform coupled with Vignette Portal and an Oracle Database.
- Worked with business to refine and clarify requirements to ensure delivery of software was accurate and on time
- Developed applications using open source Spring Framework focusing on Dependency injection and MVC pattern, including Portal MVC available in spring 2.0.
- Worked as a member of a Java development team coding new application using agile methods. This included pair programming, Test Driven Development and SCRUM as a management process
2003 - 2005 Applications Programmer, HM Land Registry
Varied role including developing Delphi client/server database applications. Currently working in Java team on a series of projects.
- Designed and coded complete Web Applications using various Java technologies including JSP, STRUTS, tag libraries, JDBC and SQLJ. Prepared the UML Document and created unit tests using JUnit.
- Asked to identify development requirements from high-level business analysis, to clarify user needs, and then develop a programme to automate volume transactions resulting from client name changes. This project was assigned to me after problems in business analysis had failed to define the objectives and set it behind schedule. The project was completed on time and to budget.
